A SassyBax Spring:
Embrace the New and Give Gratitude to the Old
Spring is in the air!
Finally! It's here! Trees are sprouting little green leaves, wildflowers are blooming, and the birds have started to sing. Yes, it's Springtime.
Every spring brings with it an air of new beginnings. We are tossing out the old, welcoming in the new, and giving ourselves a fresh start. With all that's happened over the past year, it feels even more necessary to say goodbye to the things that no longer work or serve us, and embrace the turning of a new leaf. In the words of Florence Nightingale, whose birthday is May 12, “Live life when you have it. Life is a splendid gift—there is nothing small about it.”
At SassyBax we couldn’t agree more, so this spring we’re encouraging you to take bold steps into the future, and leave the past behind. How do we do that you ask? As simple as it sounds, something as small as a closet clean out can open you up to the new things life has to offer. But don’t worry, you don’t have to go through it alone. We’re here to help.
Step 1: Prepare yourself
This won't be easy. Some of these pieces have been the foundation of every outfit you've worn for years. They've been there to comfort you and support you, and saying goodbye might be harder than you think. So take a breath, grab a glass of wine and get ready for some tough decisions.
Step 2: Toss it out/Donate
Throw them away. You know what we're talking about. That bralette that you bought years ago. The one that used to be white but now, no matter how many washes, is a dingy beige. The bralette with holes and loose threads, yes, all of them. Toss them in the bin. We know we know... they're your favorite pieces, but be that as it may, it's time to say goodbye. We want to emphasize here that these clothes don’t need to go in the actual trash. A LOT of clothing can be recycled. Just because you’re getting rid of it doesn’t mean it needs to end up in a landfill.
Also, don’t forget, you don’t have to “throw everything away.” If there is a piece in your closet that no longer “brings you joy” but is still in great shape. Donate it! Women’s shelters, Salvation Army, and Goodwill are all great ways to give your clothes a second life. Spread the joy and confidence these pieces brought you with women who might be looking for exactly that.
Step 3: You're not done yet
Throw them away. (Sensing a theme yet?) Now that we've tackled the top half, it's time to focus on the bottom. The leggings. Leggings can be a girl's best friend. When we find that perfect pair, we wear them day in and day out. This last year we've practically lived in them, so it's no wonder they are probably looking worse for the wear. Grab the threadbare pairs, the ones with runs, those that no longer hold their shape, or the ones that just no longer have a place in your life, and let them join their friends in the recycle or give-a-way piles.
Step 4: Rebuild
Now that you've purged your closet, you're probably thinking, "If I'm throwing away all my comfort and shapewear, what am I going to put on for my next Zoom meeting?"
Don't worry; we wouldn't hang you out to dry like that. Now it's time to rebuild. Breathe life into your closet with fresh, new pieces.
Consider adopting the capsule wardrobe concept. If you've never heard the term, a capsule wardrobe is a collection of classic pieces that work together with versatility, allowing you to create look after look with just a few items. There are a ton of benefits to a capsule wardrobe.
Simplicity, versatility, and longevity, just to name a few. Being able to wear simple pieces, in a variety of ways, for years to come not only takes the stress out of getting ready but ensures you'll never have to say "I have nothing to wear" again.
Usually, when people talk about capsule wardrobes, they are referring to staple pieces that make up an outfit. For instance, a classic pair of black pants, a neutral blouse, and a blazer. However, we like to apply the concept to our shapewear/comfort-wear too.
So what pieces do you need to create a strong foundation? Capsule wardrobes are all about essentials and basics. Keep that in mind as you search for the perfect pieces. Our Booty Boosting Leggings, Original Bralette, and Armed + Fabulous Top, for example, are three great options to start your SassyBax capsule collection.
Throw on a floral duster or denim jacket, and you're ready to face the day. The best thing about creating a SassyBax capsule wardrobe? It lasts, and they go with anything!

"I have worn the SassyBax bra for ten plus years. I absolutely love it!" - Karen Banks
"I have been using SassyBax for years. I have gone through extensive shoulder surgery, and this was the only bra that worked for me. They are really made well with enough elastic so that you do not feel you have a tight band around you.....You can wear them with anything" - Dr. Dian Denyer.
"This is the third batch of the bralette I have purchased over the years. I buy seven at a time. I care for them as recommended, and they last! These are the most comfortable bras I have ever worn. I am not a fashionista by any means, but I know I am looking good coming and going. There is a whole lot of ugly going on with women wearing flesh squeezing undergarments. There are imitations of the bralette out there. The quality is not the same and not made in North America. Yay for SassyBax!" -Barb Silverstein.

You did it!
Cleaning out a closet and throwing away dependable pieces is no small feat. There are entire television shows devoted to the difficulty of the process, so take a moment and pat yourself on the back! You've cleared out the old and made room for the new. You've opened your heart and home to what wonderful things might be around the corner, and we applaud you for it. The most important thing to remember is to wear what makes you feel strong, confident, and of course, sassy.
One More Thing!
In honor of Florence Nightingale and National Nurses week (May 6th -12th), we’ll also be donating 10% of proceeds on all bras to the National Nurses Association throughout May. Nurses have stood by our side and on the front lines this past year, and it’s time to say thank you.
